Some notes (you don’t have to read this). I’ve been doing our “Pics of the Year” for many years now and have found it to be a great way to look back and see what we’ve done during the past 12 months. For years I struggled with how to edit the number down, should it be 10 or 20, will people get tired if there’s too many. What should be the criteria? How are the “best” determined? As you’ll see from this post, I could have used some editing help. Looking back on past years, I’ve enjoyed seeing the variety and numbers as the images become my short and recent history. So I abandoned the idea of some limit, deciding to post images that I’ve liked, knowing our audience can opt in or out at will - it’s not a three-hour movie you have to sit through. Many in the collection are images from personal projects, not assignments. Portraits of performers at Experimental Film Virginia, documentary shots from travels and a still life series I’ve been working on at our house on the shore. Overall I think it’s been a good year and I continue to be blessed to do the work I’ve loved for so many years. I hope you enjoy…..
